The bubbles frozen underneath the surface of Abraham Lake is an unusual phenomenon. The plants on the lake bed release methane gas and the gas bubbles gets frozen once coming close to the much colder lake surface. They keep stacking up as the ice gets thicker and thicker during winter season.
